A Practical Voice for All of District 15
Together, Let’s Deliver Pragmatic Results
Utah and District 15 face unique and long-term challenges and opportunities. Rather than wasting time alienating those we disagree with, our district deserves a state senator who is pragmatic, finds common ground, and can work toward practical solutions. Unfortunately, our district currently does not have a seat at the table. We deserve a state senator who will deliver real outcomes.
Scott is uniquely prepared to work with all stakeholders, listen to their concerns, and work tirelessly to bring about change. He will bring a focus on making decisions that position our kids and grandkids to have the most opportunity and an even better quality of life than we have.
Leading Out on Housing Attainability
Scott recognizes our housing shortage is creating a looming economic crisis to our near and long-term prosperity. Scott’s background in building communities responsibly, establishing housing funds, and expertise with public financing tools will give District 15 an elevated voice in solving our housing situation. He will bring stakeholders together and work with municipal and state leaders to find solutions to increasing housing stock while respecting local control and not raising taxes. Scott understands that the housing situation is hollowing out our middle class and disadvantaging a generation of Utahns right now — and he knows how to solve this.
Champion Environmental Stewardship
Like many in District 15, Scott greatly values and enjoys the beauty of our natural environment. As a millennial, and a parent who is raising a family here in Utah, he is keenly aware of how the rising generation will be affected if we don’t prioritize conservation. Air and water are not partisan issues, but we need a legislator who can actually get results and work productively with others rather than resort to unproductive grandstanding. Scott will prioritize policies and investment to protect our Great Salt Lake because water resiliency is critical for our quality of life and economy.
Actively Supporting Our Local Schools
As the son of a public school teacher, Scott understands that supporting our students, parents, and teachers requires actions—not just words. He will support enhanced educational funding to support our students in need, work to bring class sizes down, and work collaboratively with local teachers and administrators to deliver statewide policy that will positively impact our neighborhood schools. With the right relationships and policy vision, Scott will be a senator who actively delivers solutions for our educators.
Enhancing Our Economy & Quality of Life
Scott’s background has prepared him to lead on ensuring continued economic prosperity, which he does daily in his profession. Catalyzing job creation and investment into the state are keys to sustaining Utah’s economic output and quality of life. By investing in infrastructure, workforce development and education and prioritizing conservation we can support our growth trajectory in a healthy way and create a virtuous economic cycle that provides the best opportunities for future generations.
Rethinking the LCC Gondola
From first hand experience, Scott knows why major infrastructure projects fail. As a management consulting executive he worked on major infrastructure projects around the globe and did his dissertation at Oxford University on the challenges of mega projects. The LCC gondola proposal has the hallmarks of a troubled project in the making — the business case is flawed from a financial, technical, environmental, and stakeholder engagement standpoint. If elected Senator Scott will bring a credible voice to the discussion and work constructively with all stakeholders to find viable solutions to our canyon congestion.
